About Nicky

„My vision for my horse riding school is to create a haven where the timeless bond between humans and horses is celebrated and nurtured. At the heart of my school, I envision a place where riders of all ages and abilities can come to learn, grow, and connect with these magnificent creatures.“           Nicole Becker

How Nicky became the Person she is Today

My journey into the world of equestrianism commenced with the guidance of Gretel Keding, affectionately known as „Tante Knips.“ At the age of 4. She introduced me to the art of vaulting, providing a graceful and foundational introduction to the equestrian arts. These early steps would lay the groundwork for a lifelong connection with horses and the equestrian world.

As I grew, so did my passion for these majestic creatures. I ventured into the competitive realms of show jumping, dressage, and cross country, dedicating myself to mastering these disciplines. What set me apart was my commitment to training and developing my own horses. The bond I forged with these remarkable animals became an integral part of my journey.

After completing my formal education, I had the privilege of joining a therapeutic riding centre in Windhoek, owned by the esteemed Vesta Burmeister. Here, I took on the role of a teacher, introducing children to the art of English riding.

This newfound passion propelled me to pursue my dream of starting my own riding school in 2012. Central to my school’s philosophy was my hands-on approach to training each school horse, ensuring their competence and their ability to connect deeply with the riders they would serve.

Over the past years, I actively sought opportunities to broaden my horizons by attending seminars conducted by both national and international trainers, earning qualifications as an FEI level 1 coach and pursuing the course for FEI level 2.

I had the privilege of serving as an assistant course designer under the mentorship of Cord Cordes, which eventually led to my role as a national course designer. This experience deepened my expertise in course design and contributed to my growth within the equestrian community.

But beyond all accolades and accomplishments, my true passion lies in creating an environment where riders can connect with horses on a non-competitive level. For me, it’s about fostering a joyful and loving relationship between riders and these incredible animals.

As I reflect on my equestrian journey, I am profoundly grateful for the diverse experiences, the wisdom gained, and the countless lives I’ve touched through my riding school. My history stands as a testament to my unwavering commitment to the well-being of both horses and riders, encapsulating the essence of equestrianism as a journey of shared joy, understanding, and love.
